PROVO MID-CENTURY REMODEL
Space Planning & Finding Light
We started with a split-level home from the 1960s that had been added on to over time and been through a few remodels. We simplified the layout and created a circular flow through the home. A few key features that we added were some extra windows flanking the fireplace to bring light into the Living Room from two sides of the house, and then created a door from the existing Kitchen to the underused storage room which made a Butler’s Pantry that connects as a natural path from the Mudroom. We also added a window to the south wall in the lower Family Room to bring some much needed light (again, light from two sides) into the space and eliminate the shadows into the house, even when lights are off.
